Crew Connect WA is committed to professionalism, transparency, privacy and the protection of the intellectual property developed through our services.

These terms apply to the use of the Crew Connect WA website, directories, member profiles, CVs, membership programs, production services and associated materials.

By using Crew Connect WA services or participating in a Crew Connect WA membership or program, you acknowledge these terms.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Crew Connect WA Intellectual Property

Crew Connect WA invests considerable time, expertise and professional judgement in developing and curating member profiles, CVs, directory content, production resources, service frameworks and other materials.

Unless otherwise stated or agreed in writing, original content created by Crew Connect WA remains the intellectual property of Crew Connect WA.

This includes, where applicable:

• professionally written and curated crew profiles;
• professional summaries and biographies;
• Production Value statements;
• original descriptions of skills, experience and professional positioning;
• editorial wording and profile copy;
• Crew Connect WA-created CV wording and presentation;
• CV and profile structures, formats and layouts;
• profile categories and presentation systems;
• website copy and directory content;
• service frameworks, processes and methodologies;
• membership resources and materials;
• databases, compilations and organisational structures to the extent protected by law;
• branding, graphics and design elements owned by Crew Connect WA; and
• other original materials created by or specifically for Crew Connect WA.

Copyright and other intellectual property rights in these materials are reserved.

Member Information vs Crew Connect WA-Created Content

Crew members retain ownership of, and may freely use, their own underlying career and personal information.

This includes their:

• name and contact information;
• employment history;
• production credits;
• job titles and roles;
• qualifications and training;
• licences and certifications;
• skills;
• awards;
• equipment information;
• professional memberships;
• photographs and showreels where the member owns or is authorised to use them; and
• other factual information supplied to Crew Connect WA.

However, ownership of a member's underlying information does not transfer ownership of original editorial content subsequently created by Crew Connect WA from that information.

Where Crew Connect WA writes, rewrites, edits, curates, structures or professionally positions a member's information into original profile copy, professional summaries,

Production Value statements, descriptions or other editorial material, that original Crew Connect WA-created content remains the intellectual property of Crew Connect WA unless otherwise agreed in writing.

In simple terms:

1. Your career information is yours.
2. Our original curation and writing is ours.

Use on Other Platforms

Members are free to join other directories, agencies, databases and professional platforms and may provide those services with their own factual career information, credits, qualifications and experience.

Crew Connect WA does not require exclusivity.

However, original written or curated content created by Crew Connect WA must not, without prior written permission from Crew Connect WA, be:

• copied or reproduced on another commercial crew directory, agency, database or platform;
• supplied to another service provider for publication as that provider's profile copy;
• republished in whole or in substantial part;
• adapted or rewritten in a manner that reproduces a substantial part of Crew Connect WA's original expression;
• presented in a way that suggests another business or platform created Crew Connect WA's original editorial work; or
• commercially exploited by another business or competing service.

For clarity, a member cannot grant another business, agency, directory or platform permission to reproduce or commercially use Crew Connect WA-created content where the intellectual property in that content is owned by Crew Connect WA. Permission to use such content must be obtained directly from Crew Connect WA.

Minor alterations, rearrangement or editing of Crew Connect WA-created wording do not necessarily make that content independent original material.

Members wishing to use Crew Connect WA-created copy outside Crew Connect WA may contact us to request written permission.

CVs and Downloadable Materials

Where Crew Connect WA creates a producer-ready CV, profile document or other downloadable material for a member, the member's underlying career information remains theirs.

Any original wording, editorial content, layout, structure, design or other material created by Crew Connect WA remains subject to Crew Connect WA's intellectual property rights unless expressly transferred or licensed otherwise in writing.

Providing a member with a copy of a CV or profile does not, by itself, transfer ownership of Crew Connect WA's intellectual property in the material.

Unauthorised Use

Crew Connect WA reserves its rights in relation to unauthorised copying, reproduction, publication or commercial use of its intellectual property.

Where we become aware of possible unauthorised use, we may contact the member, individual, business, agency or platform concerned and request that the relevant material be removed or rewritten.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies available to Crew Connect WA under applicable law.

MEMBER PROFILES & PUBLIC VISIBILITY

Crew Connect WA exists to increase professional visibility and facilitate appropriate industry connections.

Depending on the relevant membership, service and profile settings, information supplied by members may be used to create profiles accessible through the Crew Connect WA website and may be viewed by productions, industry professionals and other website visitors.

Members should therefore only provide information, photographs, contact details and other material that they are comfortable having displayed through the applicable Crew Connect WA service.

Where access to particular directories, resources or information is restricted, Crew Connect WA may require registration or approval before access is provided.

PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION

Crew Connect WA collects personal and professional information reasonably required to provide its services.

This may include:

• names and contact details;
• professional roles and departments;
• employment and production history;
• credits;
• education, qualifications and training;
• skills, licences and professional memberships;
• photographs, headshots, CVs and showreels;
• membership and account information;
• information submitted through forms or enquiries; and
• communications with Crew Connect WA.

Information may be collected directly from individuals through membership applications, onboarding forms, emails, meetings, website forms and other communications.

Where authorised by the member, Crew Connect WA may also use publicly available professional information or information supplied for the purpose of creating or updating a profile.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

Personal and professional information may be used to:

• establish and administer memberships;
• create and maintain crew and industry profiles;
• facilitate connections with productions and industry professionals;
• provide member services;
• communicate opportunities, industry information and relevant Crew Connect WA updates;
• respond to enquiries;
• administer production and industry services;
• maintain and improve our website, directories and programs;
• protect the security and integrity of our services; and
• meet legal and administrative obligations.

Crew Connect WA does not sell members' personal information to third parties.

SHARING & DISCLOSURE

Information intended for inclusion in a member's professional profile may be made available through Crew Connect WA for professional and industry connection purposes.

Other personal information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to service providers supporting Crew Connect WA's operations, where authorised by the individual, where required by law, or where otherwise permitted under applicable privacy law.

Where Crew Connect WA undertakes a specific project or partnership involving information sharing beyond ordinary Crew Connect WA services, additional notice or consent may be obtained where appropriate.

DATA SECURITY

Crew Connect WA takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Online services necessarily involve third-party technology and hosting providers, and no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.

ACCESS, CORRECTION & PROFILE UPDATES

Members may request access to or correction of personal information held about them by contacting Crew Connect WA.

Members are responsible for notifying Crew Connect WA when professional information displayed in their profile requires updating.

NOT AN AGENCY — NO COMMISSION MODEL

Crew Connect WA is an independent crew, industry services and production connection platform.

Crew Connect WA is not a talent or employment agency and does not ordinarily negotiate employment contracts, rates or engagement terms on behalf of crew.

Unless Crew Connect WA has been separately engaged to provide a specific production service:

• negotiations occur directly between crew and productions;
• contracts are entered into directly between the relevant parties;
• payments are made directly between those parties; and
• Crew Connect WA does not take a commission or percentage of a crew member's earnings.

Membership or inclusion in Crew Connect WA does not guarantee employment or engagement.

PRODUCTION & ADVISORY SERVICES

Crew Connect WA may separately provide paid services to productions, organisations and industry partners.

Depending on the engagement, these may include:

• crew identification and connection;
• preliminary crew capability mapping;
• production landing and development support;
• industry and government introductions;
• supplier and industry-services connections;
• local industry intelligence;
• location and logistical connections;
• visiting-production support;
• education and industry connections;
• concierge services;
• production-side liaison; and
• confidential advisory and problem-solving support.

These services are separate from standard crew membership and may be subject to individual scopes of work, quotations, consultancy rates or service agreements.

CODE OF CONDUCT & PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS

Members and users of Crew Connect WA are expected to:

• provide accurate information;
• communicate professionally;
• respect confidentiality;
• respect intellectual property;
• honour professional commitments;
• avoid misrepresenting their experience or qualifications; and
• use Crew Connect WA services for legitimate professional purposes.

Crew Connect WA reserves the right to suspend, restrict or remove access to its services where there is a material breach of these terms, misuse of the platform or conduct that may compromise the professional integrity or security of Crew Connect WA or its members.

NO GUARANTEE OF EMPLOYMENT

Crew Connect WA facilitates visibility, introductions, industry connections and professional opportunities.

We do not guarantee employment, engagement, interviews, production work or any particular outcome from membership or participation.

Productions and crew remain responsible for conducting their own due diligence and determining the suitability of any professional engagement.

LIMITATION OF RESPONSIBILITY

Crew Connect WA is not a party to employment or contractor agreements entered into between crew members, productions or third parties unless expressly stated in writing.

To the extent permitted by law, Crew Connect WA is not responsible for the acts, omissions, performance, employment arrangements or contractual obligations of independent crew members, productions, suppliers or other third parties introduced through the platform.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Australian law.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Crew Connect WA may update these terms and this privacy information from time to time to reflect changes to our services, programs, legal obligations or business operations.

The current version will be published on the Crew Connect WA website with the date of the latest update.
