PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Rebecca Gaines is a Perth-based production professional with more than a decade of experience across television, feature film, advertising, comedy, factual entertainment and documentary production in the UK, USA and Australia.

After completing a BA (Hons) in Film Studies at the University of Surrey, Rebecca began her production career in London, initially working across advertising before moving into television, including comedy panel shows, game shows, music videos and short films.

Her career progressed through Production Assistant, Production Coordinator and Junior Production Manager roles to Production Manager, with extensive recent experience in UK unscripted factual television. Her credits span true crime, paranormal, extreme weather and factual entertainment, including multiple series of Killers: Caught on Camera, Murder in Mind, The Yorkshire Exorcist, Help! My House is Haunted and World’s Deadliest Weather.

Rebecca also has Australian feature-film experience, working as Travel Coordinator on Warner Bros Feature Productions’ Mortal Kombat in Adelaide.

Now based in Perth, Rebecca is an experienced Production Manager and Production Coordinator looking to bring her extensive UK production experience to Western Australian productions. She is particularly interested in feature films and scripted television drama and, while she has worked at Production Manager level in UK factual television, is open to taking on an appropriate production-office role as she builds further experience within Australian scripted production.

Highly organised, structured and detail-focused, Rebecca combines strong production administration with a collaborative approach to team management. She places particular importance on creating a positive working environment where crew feel supported, valued and able to perform at their best.

VALUE TO PRODUCTION

Rebecca brings a particularly useful combination of production management, logistics and post-production experience.

Having progressed through multiple levels of the production office, she understands both the detailed administrative work required to keep a production moving and the broader scheduling, budgeting and team-management responsibilities of a Production Manager.

Her experience includes complex, fast-moving productions filming across the UK, USA and Australia, as well as studio and location work.

Rebecca particularly enjoys the organisational side of production — building schedules, working with budgets, coordinating logistics and creating systems that allow a production to operate efficiently. Her strong post-production experience adds another dimension, including footage workflows, documentation, subtitles, credits and overseeing the progression of edits, grades and onlines.

She also brings a people-focused management style. Rebecca believes strong organisation and high standards can sit alongside good team morale and places importance on creating an environment in which crew feel valued and supported.

For Western Australian productions, Rebecca brings substantial international production-management experience, strong organisational and post-production capability, and previous Australian feature-film experience. Her willingness to work across appropriate production-office roles gives productions access to an experienced professional who can contribute immediately while continuing to build her Australian scripted credits.
