PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Mike Montague is one of Western Australia's most respected Unit Managers, with over two decades of experience across feature films, drama series and international productions. His recent credits include Two Birds (Stan), Breakers (Netflix), The Twelve (Binge) and Scrublands (Stan), where he brought hands-on expertise, calm leadership and a solutions-focused approach to set.
His career spans back over twenty years of WA screen production, including long-running credits on titles such as the Red Dog franchise, Hounds of Love, Cloudstreet, Blueback and Japanese Story. Across this body of work, Mike has managed units of well over 100 crew, coordinated base camps in both metropolitan and remote regional locations, and worked across genres from large-scale drama series to feature films. His experience extends beyond unit management into location scouting and location management, giving him a practical understanding of a production's needs from both sides of the base camp.
Mike is also the founder of MPS Production Services, supplying production trucks, base camp infrastructure and location vehicles to major WA productions, a business detailed separately below.
